Sarah van Cornewal studied recorder and baroque flute at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Basel) and at the royal Conservatory from the Hague (Holland).

She plays in Europe, in Corea, in Brasil with differents music groups (Modena Consort, Anasarel, Fue, Il Désidério, La Cetra, Café Zimmermann, Elyma, La Saltarelle, l’Ensemble Baroque du Léman, Holone) and also in two solo programmes (12 fantaisies from G. P. Telemann and The flute in all its guises).

She teaches the recorder in Wettingen (Switzerland) and gives master-classes in Austria and France.

Sarah is the winner of the Baroque Flute Artist Competition in Albuquerque, USA (2007) as well as the Bärenreiter Prize winner of the Ensemble Competition in Magdeburg (Germany).
